As part of this year’s Global Handwashing Day celebration, The GC Brand, through its hygiene care brand Kleanz, embarked on an impactful hand hygiene campaign across five schools in the Greater Accra Region.

The campaign was driven by the recent increase in influenza cases reported by the Ghana Health Service, with children identified as the most at risk. With the festive season approaching—a time of togetherness and celebration—it was the perfect moment to reinforce the importance of proper hand hygiene in preventing the spread of germs.

Through the Kleanz Global Handwashing Campaign, The GC Brand inspired healthier habits and reminded families that clean hands are the first step toward a safer, happier festive season.

Held under the hashtag #Kleanz21DaysChallenge, the campaign aimed to build lasting hygiene habits among students. It encouraged them to wash their hands regularly for 21 consecutive days—the time it takes to form a healthy routine.

Teachers and parents were also involved in tracking students’ consistency, with the most dedicated participants set to receive exciting rewards and an exclusive educational tour of Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd.
During one of the handwashing activation exercises at the Datus School Complex in Tema, the Brand Manager of Ghandour Cosmetics Ltd., Ms. Victoria Abakah, emphasized the critical role of maintaining proper hygiene practices.

She highlighted that many people have become complacent with hygiene routines since the COVID-19 pandemic subsided, even though the threat of communicable diseases still exists. “Hand hygiene remains one of the simplest yet most effective ways to protect ourselves and others,” she remarked.
Throughout the campaign, The GC Brand donated Kleanz Hand Sanitizers, Handwashing Soaps, and dispensers to all participating schools, helping students and staff build a culture of clean hands and healthy living.

The visits were both educational and interactive, as the Kleanz team demonstrated effective handwashing techniques and shared valuable hygiene tips.

The initiative was supported by brand ambassadors Nana Ama McBrown and Dr. Louisa, who joined the team to educate and inspire students on the importance of regular handwashing and the use of Kleanz handwashing soaps and sanitizers in daily life.

Several leading media houses, including UTV, ONUATV, City FM, Pluzz FM, Angel FM, 3 Music TV, Star FM, and Peace FM, covered the campaign.

Their support helped amplify the message of the Kleanz Global Handwashing Campaign, ensuring it reached a wider audience and inspired more people to embrace proper hand hygiene.

The #Kleanz21DaysChallenge reflected The GC Brand’s ongoing commitment to promoting health, wellness, and good hygiene within communities.

By inspiring young minds to adopt lifelong handwashing habits, the campaign contributed to a cleaner, safer, and healthier Ghana.
